After releasing the “Bove Box” in 2010, Jeff started writing new material. In 2012, he released “High Definition”, featuring Kat Lee. This record included 16 songs, most of which were co-written by Jeff Bove and Scott Birney. The record featured the violin work of David Poland and Tommy Alderson on guitar. It was also released with a “High Definition” video, filmed and produced by increasingly acclaimed filmmaker Albert Birney.
After “High Definition”, Jeff continued to write and record, this time putting together another 14 song record completed in 2014 called “Fires Across The Canyon”. Like High Definition, “Fires” was performed by Kat Lee, Tommy Alderson on guitar, David Poland on violin, Lindsay Lee on piano and vocals, Jeff on guitar, and Dave Lee on percussion. Randy Coleman contributed some bass tracks. Jeff retained Grammy Award winning engineer Fab DuPont to consult on details and to master the record. Geoff Daking of Blues Magoos fame and Daking Audio helped spec some of the equipment used to make “Fires”.
Although “Fires” was completed in 2014, Jeff decided to sit on it (which he is known to do) and immediately commenced work on the 2015 Project, a 24 song double record which is in mastering with Fab at Flux Studios in New York and has a release date of December 1, 2016.
The 2015 Project includes performances by 11 musicians. More about this record, called “Still Resting From High School”, when it is released.
With the 2015 Project in mastering, Jeff has already started production of his fifth record since 2011 which is scheduled for completion in 2017.
And so the writing and recording continues. A fun time for all.
